Our
pilots are experienced mountain pilots. They are very familiar with
the Atlin area and enjoy the full trust of our guests immediately.
The helicopters are checked by our engineers daily and
therefore meet the high, world renowned Canadian safety standards for
transport. We use Eurocopter ASTAR or BELL 407 helicopters which are able to transport
five guests and a guide. These machines are agile and very powerful,
and can land in places
where it would be impossible to land for bigger helicopters. No more than three
groups will be serviced with this machine and therefore the waiting
time is minimal.
We
are the only heliski company using both helicopters and airplanes
for transportation of our guests. We are therefore able to reach every
imaginable point within our area, utilizing the full 5000m² of our
terrain. The first group will be flown in the helicopter to the slopes
chosen for that particular day while the other groups are shuttled to the
area via airplane which lands on frozen lakes or flat glaciers. For the
actual heliskiing we will of course use helicopters for all groups. One
group is being whisked up to ski while the other groups are descending. There
is virtually no waiting time. All groups meet for lunch. At the end of
the day the airplane takes us back to Atlin. Only our
tracks remain in the snow.
